Born in Sydney, Jill Ogai grew up on Bondi Beach.

At the age of four after watching a video of Swan Lake, she and her twin brother surprised their parents by asking if they could start ballet classes.
Jill moved to Melbourne at age 14 to begin full-time studies at The Australian Ballet School and toured with The Dancers Company in 2010 and 2011 and received a contract to join The Australian Ballet in 2012. Jill was promoted to soloist in 2018 and was the winner of The Telstra Dancer of the Year Award in 2019.

Jill has charmed Australian audiences with her strength and versatility as a performer in both classical and contemporary works on stage and we are so excited to have her as a guest teacher at City Adult Ballet.
