Ben Davis

Ben used to tag along to his sister’s jazz ballet classes and copy the routines from the back of the studio before he started attending his own classes at age seven. He trained with Leeanne Rutherford of Ballet Theatre Australia and joined The Australian Ballet in 2005. He performed many featured roles as a dancer with The Australian Ballet including, Jiří Kylián’s Sechs Tänze and Petite Mort, The Professor in Alexei Ratmansky’s Scuola di Ballo and Wayne McGregor’s Dyad 1929.

In 2007, Ben received the Maurice Sullivan scholarship enabling him to study with various dance companies overseas.

Ben was promoted to coryphée in 2009 and to soloist for the 2011 season.

Ben has a great eye for technical detail in his dance classes and with his quick witted humour is a wonderful addition to our team at City Adult Ballet.
